Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Urban and Regional Planner to join our team. As an Urban and Regional Planner, you will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and developing plans and strategies to guide the growth and development of cities and regions. Your role will involve considering factors such as population, land use, transportation, and environmental impact to create sustainable and well-designed communities. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that plans align with community needs and goals. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of urban planning principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating livable and vibrant urban environments.

Position Responsibilities

The responsibilities of an Urban and Regional Planner include conducting research and gathering data on demographics, land use, infrastructure, and environmental factors, analyzing data to identify trends and challenges in urban development, developing comprehensive plans and strategies for the growth and revitalization of cities and regions, considering factors such as population density, transportation systems, zoning regulations, and environmental sustainability, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure plans align with community needs and goals, conducting site visits and assessments to evaluate existing infrastructure and identify development opportunities, providing recommendations on land use policies and urban design guidelines, preparing reports and visualizations to communicate planning concepts and recommendations, staying informed about emerging trends and best practices in urban planning, and participating in community engagement activities to gather input and facilitate dialogue on planning projects.

Position Qualifications

Qualifications for an Urban and Regional Planner role include a Bachelor's degree or higher in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Geography, or a related field, proven experience in urban and regional planning, strong knowledge of urban planning principles, practices, and regulations, proficiency in data analysis, GIS software, and other planning tools, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, ability to work independently and collaboratively, attention to detail and project management skills, familiarity with sustainable development practices and principles is desirable, and knowledge of transportation planning, environmental planning, or economic development is a plus.
